July 13 - 359 months

I wrote this on my iPad while down at breakfast on Friday July 13th.  Finally getting to post it here.

New MexicoJeanine and I are married 29 years, 11 months today.  359 one month anniversaries have come and gone (almost).  It has been a wonderful fantastic journey.  We have many incredible adventures awaiting us this year I am sure.

While reading yesterday part of my reading was Psalm 37:3-5

"Trust in the Lord and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He will do it."

It has been a wonderful and trying time over here in India trusting in Him.  Yesterday I awoke very early stressed out that I had not found an apartment yet.  Then I did the only thing I could, spent time in prayer.  I was at the end and had given up on finding a place and was considering other options.  I even went to work and told a co-worker I did not think I would ever get a flat over here.

Just when I was getting ready to send an email to my company telling them I thought I would be in the hotel till I was done here I got a call from my pastor over here.  Karan (pastor of NBCC) said he had a broker that knew the process foreigners had to go through and had done it many times.  Also the broker had three flats coming available very soon.  We rushed over and looked at the three flats, went to talk with the broker and told him we would take one.  The broker gave us a list of everything we would need and had to do.  Today I will go put a deposit on the flat.

It also turns out the owner of the flat is the same person that owns the restaurant where our Wednesday morning bible study meets.

One more hurdle down in our time here.

In so many ways India is no different than the US.  I am sure it is like most every country.  You have to find the right people people who have experience at what you are trying to get done.  Most things we can accomplish by ourselves, however it is so much better when we work as a community and help one another.  I am really learning to lean on the Lord over here, I am learning to ask for help and to keep knocking and don't give up.

I can tell you today I signed the lease and it was a breeze.  Thank God for providing the right people at the right time.  Thank God for my NBCC family over here.
